第一次聽到莫非定律（Murphy's Law)是在Patience Ting的西概課裡
仔細想一想還真的有那麼一點兒道理
--才坐上馬桶電話就來/才洗車就下雨/才想著雨傘好重把它拿起來，隔天就下雨...--
一堆不按牌裡出牌的經驗法則

沒想到真有一本書滿滿地都是blah blah's Law且是中英對照，讚
書中分出許多類別，有機械篇、系統篇、運氣篇....
其中運氣篇裡提到：
The other line moves faster.  If you change lines, the one you just left will start to move faster than the one you are now in.
相信排隊或塞車時總是會遇到這種令人噴血的情況

其他像是
The pimples don't appear until the hour before the date.
The telephone will ring when you are outside the door, fumbling for your keys.
No one is listening until you make a mistake.
The more studying you did for the exam, the less sure you are as to which answer they want.
...許多實用恐怖定律切中人心

只是英文句子少部分文法彎來彎去的，感覺很拗口
也因為如此，更是學習「學術性」用語的好書-極力推薦！
